Part of what makes Speak About It unique are the humorous and honest skits combined with truthful monologues, all read by our actors during the performance. These stories reflect a number of different experiences that people have had with sex, but we know that we simply can’t cover everyone’s story. We believe that everyone, no matter what it may be, has a story about their experience with sex. Whether you’re having it or your not, you want to or you don’t, you’re a survivor or you know someone who is, everyone’s story is different and unique. Maybe you heard a familiar story in the performance, or you’ve found that your experiences have been drastically different than those presented in the show. Whatever your story may be, we want to hear it. And if you feel comfortable sharing your story with us, we would be honored to have the opportunity to include it in future versions of our performance.

Looking for inspiration? Here’s part of an actual monologue used in the show:

“This is my success story of a curious approach to “the first time.” I was 17, a virgin and going to Cabo for my senior year spring break. I went to Mexico knowing that I wanted to have sex for the first time. And sex in Mexico during spring break is pretty easy to come by. I can’t remember his name and I never saw him again after I left his hotel room at 7 in the morning wearing some short skirt paired with ridiculous sex-hair. I’ve had sex plenty of times since then, with boyfriends and best friends and one-night stands, but my first time was one of my best and most enjoyable sex experiences.”

You’ve seen this person’s story and we hope to see yours, too.
