That’s right, we had two shows in the past week at two different school. Last Tuesday (the 27th), we were at Brown University for a performance geared towards student-leaders and administrators in anticipation of Orientation next year. We got to meet with some passionate and driven students before the performance, and had a great meeting with some administrators the following day. As much time as we spend with the script, it’s always helpful to get new feedback about language. Look for some small changes to make their way into the script in future shows (not just local jokes). We had a brief trip in Providence, but we’re hoping to be back again soon.
This past Tuesday (the 4th), we had a performance at Harvard University in Cambridge. Again, we met some incredible administrators and students, and hopefully sparked some dialogue. A group of local high school students were also invited to attend, which was a treat!
We want to take this chance to thank Brown and Harvard for great visits to their campuses, but also present a challenge. We’ve had opportunities to talk with thousands of college (and high school) students across the country on many campuses. They’ve left the performance and had conversations with their peers, their roommates, their partners. You’re shared stories with each other, created stories, listened to stories. We would be honored to share those stories. Speak About It is always looking for new monologues to include in the program. The script is constantly evolving and we would love to include your stories in future presentations. Did you find that your story was absent from the program? Is there a perspective or experience you’d like to hear?
Speak About It is a collection of stories, experiences and reflections, and we want to share yours. We all have our own stories about our experience with sex, and that looks different for all of us. We can’t tell everyone’s story, but we’d like to try. We want to keep speaking about it, but we need your help.
