What an adventure to the West Coast!
We spent Wednesday – Friday of last week touring and performing on the beautiful campus of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. We arrived Wednesday with enough time to scope out the campus and some local eateries (we were starving after flying from across the country!) and take a quick nap before the performance that evening. We started the show at around 9:30pm, which was 12:30am our time, and it went wonderfully! The audience was great, laughing at all the jokes (which is always Shana’s big fear) and we had some helpful and productive feedback afterwards.
Thursday, we caught up on some sleep and treated ourselves to some brunch in downtown Tacoma. We stumbled across a farmer’s market downtown and sampled some local veggies, coffees, and hot sauces. Thursday evening’s show was again wonderful, we had a chance to make some edits to the script between shows and we were greeted with loud applause, appropriate silences, and productive conversations afterward. We also had a chance to chat with some student-leaders, first-years, and administrators and got some awesome feedback. We’re excited to hear about follow-up in a few weeks!
Friday saw us heading back to Maine after a wonderful trip on the West Coast. By the end, Ben loved Tacoma so much he was checking apartment listings and Shana was threatening to bring back a suitcase full of fresh salmon (thankfully, both plans fell through).
The cast is taking the weekend off now as we prepare to continue the tour tomorrow, when we leave for a couple performances at Williams College in Williamstown, MA. Are we coming to your area and you want to catch a show? Want to know what the rest of the tour looks like? Feel free to shoot us an email at SpeakAboutItOnline [at] gmail [dot] com. We’d love to see some familiar faces in the audience! Keep checking back for more tour updates, including photos, videos, and posts from the actors!
ALSO, slightly belatedly, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came to the show last week at Bard Coffee. We had a wonderful turnout and had a chance to get some jitters out before heading westward on Tuesday night. A big, big thanks to Jeremy Pelkey at Bard for donating the space, SARSSM and Frannie Peabody, both of whom were wonderful resources before, during, and after the show, and again to everyone who came out and supported us as we began out adventure.
