So much of what makes Speak About It a unique and compelling performance is the stories and monologues. We are telling your stories, acting out your skits, sharing your experiences. When we talk to students about ways to get consent or reasons for being abstinent or the healing process for survivors of sexual assault, we are using your words.
Really, this show couldn’t go on without your help. So send us your stories.
Tell us about your first time, your favorite pick-up lines. Tell us about how you were an active bystander, or about a time when someone stepped in on your behalf. Many survivors of sexual assault also find strength through the writing process, and we would be honored to share your story.
Need inspiration? Here’s an excerpt from a monologue that is currently in the show:
“God, I want to fuck you,” he whispered a little too close to my ear. He was turned on. I was awkward. I had never had anyone talk to me this way before, let alone a football player from the floor above me freshman year, and I was taken aback. It was blunt. It was dirty. But somehow I wasn’t grossed out or upset at all…

Whatever inspires or motivates you, consider writing your story and sending it to us to be included in future shows. We all have a story about our experiences with sex and we hope you’ll share yours.
Submissions can be sent to SpeakAboutItOnline (at) gmail (dot) com. All submissions will be used 100% anonymously in any production of the script or performance of the show.
